Barefoot Nutrition Yoga Classes in Fonthill!

Saturday Morning Vinyasa

Make a commitment to yourself on Saturday morning to breathe, move and flow in the Barefoot Nutrition studio. The BFN studio is small and intimate, so there is no need to feel intimidated by large class sizes!

  • Do you often feel stressed and need to relax your tense muscles?
  • Feeling tired and want to feel  more vibrant and  invigorated?
  • Does your mind race a hundred miles a minute, and you’d like to learn to quiet it down even for 10 minutes?
  • Do people often talk about experiencing ‘inner calm’, and you’d like some of that for yourself?
  • Would you like your body to feel lengthened and look a little more toned?

The first step in achieving any of these things is to make a commitment to yourself and stop putting it off! You can choose this class as an investment to yourself, so you will be calmer, stronger and have more energy to put into the things in life that really matter to you!  Sounds pretty good doesn’t it?

Here’s what some some of my previous students have said:

“I have been taking Ashley’s yoga classes for a couple of years. I look forward to her class every week as she always has something new and challenging to offer. She has a pleasant, peaceful demeanor with clear instruction. Ashley offers her time and advice if help is required. I leave the class relaxed and refreshed. I highly recommended Ashley’s classes and don’t feel the need or desire to look any further for yoga instruction.” – Glenn H (Toronto, ON)

“I’ve participated in Ashley’s classes for over 2 years and I’ve enjoyed going to yoga every week because she was the instructor. Ashley created a very peaceful and positive environment, which allowed me to improve every week! Now, I love yoga and always will! Thanks Ashley!” – Leah H (Toronto, ON)

My Yoga Journey

I began dabbling in yoga as a teen. I was a figure skater, so I was attracted to the challenge of strength and flexibility. However, growing up in small-town Fonthill, yoga classes were hard to come by at the time. I spent my Saturday mornings practicing along with Kathy Smiths VHS ‘New Yoga’, which was based on Ashtanga Yoga. However, It wasn’t until I moved to Toronto in 2006 that I stepped into a real yoga studio.

I still remember my first classes, thinking that downward dog, chaturanga, and wheel or urdva dhanurasana were impossibly hard. Like anything else, if you have that passion or drive like I did, you will stick through the struggle and frustration. For those of you that practice, you know that although yoga creates challenge, it also brings peace, relaxation and something really special to your life. It becomes a part of you or you become yoga.

It wasn’t until 2009 that I completing my Yoga Teacher Training in 2009 with Downward Dog under the guidance of Ron Reid and Diane Bruni. They are by no means new to yoga, and in fact were part of the movement, bringing Ashtanga Yoga to Canada. Especially now as I am miles away from my home studio, I am grateful for their guidance.

Since 2009, I have taught for Downward Dog and other Toronto-based studios. Classes such as Yoga for Teens, Yoga for Runners, Yoga Basics and general classes from beginner to advanced are just a few of the examples. Now, I am happy to bring my knowledge and experience to the Niagara Region.

Namaste.
