
Green Shake – Quick & Easy Nutrition!
Shakes are one of my favorite ways to add lots of nutrition when I have little time!
Green shake typically refers to a beverage made by blending various green vegetables and fruits together.
Common ingredients include spinach, kale, cucumber, celery, green apple, avocado, and sometimes added supplements like protein powder or spirulina, although I personally don’t typically use those.
My shakes vary a bit as far as ingredients go because I simply make them with what I have at hand that day. It is also a great way to use fruits and vegetables that might be going bad soon! I hate wasting and shakes are a great way to avoid waste!
These are the ingredients I normally add to my green shake, but get creative and add your own twist to it!
- Kale
- Spinach
- Cucumber
- Celery
- Green apple
- Green pear
- Parsley
- Avocado
- Ginger root – not too much as it might make your shake a bit spicy
- Banana and frozen pineapple – for sweetness
- Lemon juice
- Water
