Quick Mediterranean Wrap

This is one of my go-tos when I don’t have time to cook! Most of the items can be bought already prepared and most brands keep the ingredients pretty simple and healthy. Regardless I always look at the list of ingredients on every store-bought product to make sure the product doesn’t have anything I would not want. The rule of thumb is “if you understand the list of ingredients it is most likely a good choice”.

I like to use Lavash bread, which is a flatbread that is relatively low calorie/low carb, high in protein and it has 4 grams of fiber per bread, which is pretty good for a flatbread! I like the brand pictured above, but I am sure there are other great brands. If you can’t find lavash bread use whole grain tortillas instead, although in most cases these are not nutritionally as good as lavash bread they can be a good choice.

You can add grilled chicken to this, but honestly it is not necessary! This wrap is light and delicious, but filling at the same time!

Once you have the items at home it literally takes less than 10 minutes to prepare! I hope you give it a try!

Ingredients

  • Lavash bread
  • Hummus
  • Tabbouleh (sometimes spelled tabouli)
  • Tzatziki sauce
  • Sliced or shredded carrots
  • Sliced avocado
  • Sliced cucumber
  • Chopped tomato

Directions

  1. Spread a layer of hummus and tzatziki sauce on the lavash bread.
  2. Top with tabouli, carrots, cucumbers, tomatoes and avocado.
  3. Roll it up and enjoy!
